Places to visit before they are gone.

Places to visit before they are gone.

The world around us is in constant change. Destinations that are known for their breath taking beauty and captivating our senses may soon be a thing of the past. This entry is not made to lecture, but to inform you of the wonderment in this world that may not be around for the next generation to see.

Below are some destinations we recommend to take in sooner rather than later:

Galapagos Islands

Once considered to be “off the beaten path” for travelers, this location is slowly attracting more attention for its primitive beauty.  With Tourism is increasing by 12% per year, the needed addition of Hotels, Restaurants, and attractions are taking away from the natural beauty of these pristine islands. Be sure to take in all the exotic wild life and natural marvels of these islands before they are gone.

The Maldives

If you want to experience a truly unique destination, The Maldives should be on the top of your list. Made of atolls (rings of coral that form an island), formed on top of a submerged volcanic mountain range, The Maldives highest natural point sits only 8 feet above sea level. Made up of 1200 coral islands a trip to these islands will leave you with a lifetime of memories.

Great Barrier Reef

Should your travels take you to Australia, make sure the Great Barrier Reef is on your itinerary.  Often called “The World’s Largest Living Thing” The Great Barrier Reef is home to hundreds of types of coral and countless species of ocean life. Although the reef itself is under stress there are still many experiences to be had swimming in the reef or enjoying the view from above.

Venice

Known as the Queen of the Adratic, Venice is made of over 100 small islands separated by canals that act as streets in the lagoon of the Adriatic Sea. Venice provides a renaissance feel with its unchanged gothic structures. During the winter months you will have the run of the islands as tourism is down, but be prepared  that is the rainy season, other than that Venice is ready for you to take in all of it’s beauty and splendor.

Florida Keys/Key West

Are you looking for a tropical getaway without leaving the shores of the U.S.? The Florida Keys will give you that and more.  Fly or Drive over the span of islands just outside of Miami. Enjoy the various water sports, beaches, food and other attractions spread out over the 120 mile chain of this island paradise.

The Taj Mahal

One of the world’s greatest architectural achievements, the taj mahal can only be really appreciated in person. Constructed of white marble accented with semi-precious stones,  the Taj Mahal was built to be a mausoleum for the emperors  deceased wife.  More than 20,000 workers labored to create this magnificent tribute to Mumtaz Mahal. Unfortunately access to the structure will be limited; tourists are still permitted to gaze upon the magnificence of this wonder.

Magdalene Islands

With sandy beaches and sandstone cliffs, the Magdalen Islands are a lovely getaway spot in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, outside of Quebec , CA. This will not be your normal Island paradise with palm trees and fruity drinks.  Here you can marvel at the different terrains along the coast lines from your kayak or take part in an equestrian journey. The Magdalene Islands promise a variety of outdoor adventures including hiking, fishing, surfing and so much more!  Also make sure to book a one of kind seal observation tour during the early spring. Travel often and travel more, check out these places before they are changed forever. Don’t forget to come to Luggage Factory for all your travel needs
