How do we know so much about travelgoods? Because we’ve been manufacturing and selling in America since 1908. Our name is Luggage Factory because, from 1908 to 1990, we manufactured travel goods in the USA as York Luggage Co. The company grew to be the third-largest manufacturer of travel goods in the USA, through partnerships with J.C Penney, Bloomingdales, Macys and Sears. We also helped usher in the age of designer handbags, manufacturing private-label bags for Members Only, Formula 1, Jordache, Diane Von Furstenberg and Christian Dior. Our company also has managed and owned dozens of retail travelgoods stores over the years, including Tumi stores, and today we proudly operate the Luggage Factory store in Ringoes, New Jersey.
Online luggage sales should be easy, fast and -- dare we say? -- fun. At LuggageFactory.com, we are committed to selling leading brands -- including, Travelpro, Samsonite, High Sierra, Eagle Creek, Kipling, Victorinox, Delsey, Rimowa, Briggs & Riley, Hartmann and more -- and delivering them to your door with just a few clicks. Our selection includes suitcases, carry-ons, multi-piece sets, garment bags, duffels, backpacks, laptop bags, briefcases and travel accessories.

York Luggage opened The Luggage Factory Outlet as a new way to sell their products direct to consumers.
York acquired its first designer license -“Members Only™” . Its success led York to acquire “Jordache™” “Christian Dior™”, “Diane Von Furstenberg™” and “Formula One™.” By the late 1980’s York Luggage was regarded as the largest supplier of “designer label” luggage in the United States.
SALE OF YORK LUGGAGE
York Luggage grew to be the 3rd largest manufacturer of luggage in the U.S. after Samsonite and American Tourister. However, like most industries all production was going overseas to Asia and York Luggage was unable to continue making products in the U.S. York Luggage decided to sell the company and keep jobs in the U.S.A focusing on The Luggage Factory.
The Luggage Factory continued to operate using its expertise and industry knowledge to sell the leading luggage and travel goods brands. The Luggage Factory opened stores all over the east coast and managed many more stores for Tumi.
After more than 100 years, LuggageFactory.com is a leading online retailer of luggage, carry-ons, backpacks, briefcases and travel accessories. We are the Travel Experts®. While we remain focused on LuggageFactory.com, we still operate our original brick and mortar store in Ringoes, NJ.
