Hotel Check Out – Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort One of the Travel Experts favorite hotels in the world is the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and Spa.  The property was recently redesigned and refreshed and the result is simply stunning.  While this writer often finds herself in Fort Lauderdale, I don’t often have a chance to stay at this favorite property.  Luckily I had a chance to check it out and I was impressed with the changes, almost all of which were complete during my stay.  (As of press time, everything is now finished!)  From the lobby to the restaurants, from the meeting rooms to the spa, the hotel has been updated and the results are stunning. I only had 1 night to check out the hotel before flying home after a trip and in hindsight, I wish I’d planned for an additional night.  An Uber from my Miami hotel was about $35 and I arrived at Harbor Beach around 10 AM on a Sunday.  Luckily there would only be a short wait for my room and I was hungry so I checked out the brunch buffet while I waited.  More on this later! I requested an upgrade to, and received, a room with a partial ocean/pool view facing south so that I could also see cruise ships sailing away that evening.  My room was on the 12th floor, reasonably close to the elevator so I didn’t have a long walk.  The newly renovated room had a king sized bed, large flat screen HDTV, comfy arm chair, a lovely bathroom and even a balcony, which was put to good use later that afternoon when the cruise ship parade started. Sunday Brunch is truly a great way to start off your day!  Featuring bottomless mimosas or champagne along with made to order omelets and waffles, there are plenty of choices for every hungry guest!  The price is worth it as you’ll likely be full until dinner, and well, the mimosas!  For a special dinner, try 3030 Ocean featuring the finest in seafood, fresh pasta and handcrafted cocktails. All of the associates are very friendly and helpful too!  From the first moment you arrive, until you depart, the goal of the fine team here is to be sure that you have the best vacation possible!  They go out of their way to make your trip special from arranging for sightseeing or airport transportation, to hunting down a box so you can ship your packages.
